3 Salon Quality Products for Natural Hair
As Black History Month comes to a close, we musn't gloss over the strides that African Americans have made in the beauty industry. From the days of Madam CJ Walker (who, in 1905, was the first person to invent and sell hair products for African American women, and who then went on to become the wealthiest self-made woman of her time), things have changed and expanded immensely in the realm of hair products on the market, for any hair texture you can imagine.
That being said, as styles have changed in recent years, more and more African American guys and gals have been empowered to embrace their natural hair texture; as opposed to chemically straightening, or otherwise altering the texture, as was the style for most of the 20th century. So, I thought I'd put together a list of a few products that we carry here at J. Bauman Salon, that are perfect for all your natural hair needs!
1. Bumble & Bumble's Anti-Humidity Gel Oil
Perfect for fighting frizz, while defining and adding shine to tightly-wound curls, this hybrid product can tame even the most unruly of locks. Comb it through freshly washed hair, section by section, with your fingers and watch your curls come to life. Or, use it to twist with before bed (don't forget a cap or bonnet though, you do not want a coat of this on your pillow), and wake up looking as fresh as ever!
2. MoroccanOil Treatment
The original argan oil treatment, MoroccanOil has been bringing shine into people's lives for over a decade. It's antioxidant and vitamin rich formula detangles, speeds up drying time, and hydrates deep into the hair strand. Use it for styling, and get a leave-in conditioning treatment at the same time!
3. MoroccanOil's Intense Hydrating Mask
This deep conditioning treatment can be done in five minutes flat, and will hydrate and condition, while dramatically improving the hair's elasticity, shine, and manageability. Thus making it the perfect match for natural hair, to keep your curls happy and under control.
So, if you're considering going natural, or just want to better care for your curls, be sure to stock up on these top-of-the-line products; and rock your hair with confidence and pride!
